Newsletter 2

       Starlight Newsletter 2

Hi there well summer is now disappearing into the distance, the leaves are turning, and there's a chill in the air. Since the last newsletter I have been visiting some of the many National Trust properties and enjoying what good weather we have had. The picture above was taken in the garden at Beninsborough House a property near to York. We visited there during a brief stay in York over the summer. It reminds me of one of the visualisations I use with a gate and a beautiful garden within.

Since the beginning of September both of my daughters have now left for Uni, one is doing her last year, and the youngest has just gone into her 1st year. The house is quieter and of course stays tidier. So although I miss them both there are positives !

As I write this we have just got back from a day in Belbroughton, where its the Scarecrow weekend, a great day out for all the family. The effort put into some of the scarecrows is amazing the whole village gets into the spirit of things. I can only think the world would be a much friendlier and happier place if we all lived somewhere like that.

On to Aromatherapy oils, this time with the threat of Swine Flu looming once again I am picking some of the anti viral oils for you to blend and use should the dreaded bug get into your household.

Essential oils stimulate the immune system and can alter the way a virus takes hold some of the best immune stimulants are;

Frankincense, Bergamot, Rosemary Cineol, Eucalyptus Radiata, Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Lavender, Ravensara to name a few.

For respiratory infections and Influenza, Eucalyptus and Ravensara have been used with success, and can be safely used as an adjunct to regular medical care. Hyssop is considered the single most broad-spectrum antiviral. Essential oils for such cases may be used either in a diffuser, or through massage, diluted in a carrier oil.

If someone in the house has flu then its a good idea to burn a mix of Eucalytus and Lemongrass in a burner, maximum of 6 drops in some water in the room they are in.
If they feel well enough for some massage then use some oils in a carrier oil from the list above, but never use an oil undiluted on the skin unless you have been told to by a qualified Aromatherapist. The blend is a very personal one choose oils the recipient likes. Ideally a back massage or a foot massage will get the oils into their system and help boost the immune system fighting the virus.

By the time the next newsletter is due out christmas will be well on its way so enjoy the autumn and its colours and stay healthy and warm.

Please see any offers I have on the price list page and of course dont forget you can get a voucher its a perfect gift for a loved one.

Till next time

Pat
